Glass House Studio

My dear friend Peggy has a wonderful studio.

Made from upcycled windows and door, her sweet husband
Ronnie has built her a magical place for creativity.

I visited yesterday, the cool, damp weather along with the green setting,
really enhanced the enchanted feel.

Among the trees, this truly feels like you are in a special place.
Inside and out, this place evokes smiles. The light is amazing.

There is even space for her daughters to join in.

A work in progress

Peggy sells her paintings, prints and knit creations at Petrocy Studios.

for a baby boy

This quilt is made from the Missouri Star Quilt Pattern "Sandy Sunrise ", found in Block magazine Spring vol. 2, Issue 2.

It finished at 50" by 50". The pattern called for 3 matching charm packs, but I cut a layer cake that I had. The nursery colors are blue and gray.

So, I used the Tula Pink backing in gray!
Free-motioned in a graffiti-doodle pattern. Shipping to the recipients this week.

September

Can't believe it's been 3 months since I posted! It is tough managing my blog with my business travel. But I try!
Seriously, when I am home and have time, I would rather be quilting!
So completed this summer:
I had a line-drawn map enlarged at Staples. Then fused the states, appliquéd to my favorite Moda Cross weave and free motion quilted. This was gifted to my son for his birthday.
If this works, follow this link to see a video showing close ups of this quilt:

Another finish is this Rising Star:
The pattern is by MSQC and found in this summer's MODBLOCK magazine. I've always loved watching their tutorials, and lately I've been making several of the MSQU patterns. They are well written, easy to follow and make beautiful quilts!

Piece out!
